– Noc, stara wioska ze swoją historią. Przed laty topiono tam dzieci w pobliskich bagnach. Uciekam przez las i na swoim ciele czuję małe rączki, które próbują odrzeć mnie z mięsa. Martwe dzieci zastępują mi drogę, na ich ciałach widać nie tylko postępujące objawy zgnilizny, ale także pleśń i różnego rodzaju grzyby. Kiedy zostałem wyrwany ze snu pierwsze słowo jakie wypowiedziałem to „grzybielce” – tłumaczy genezę tytułu perkusista i wokalista Radek. Jego sen zobrazował doskonale znany fanom ekstremalnego metalu grafik Rafał Kruszyk, którego prace można oglądać między innymi na płytach i koszulkach Usurpress, czy Maim. – Rafał to jedna z najlepszych opcji, nic dodać nic ująć. Człowiek oddany muzyce, artysta i fan. Takich ludzi cenimy i z takimi ludźmi chcemy współpracować – tłumaczą muzycy.

– Na pewno nowe utwory są bardziej spójne niż na debiucie, mocniej leją na odlew i mają w sobie większy ładunek agresji – mówi o nowym materiale Radek. Sesja nagraniowa „Children of the Fungus” miała miejsce ponownie w białostockim studio Studnia z Piotrem Polakiem za konsolą, ale za mastering tym razem odpowiada znany między innymi z The Black Tapes Marcin Klimczak.

August 15th is when The Dead Goats’ new EP “Children of the Fungus” will hit the stores. The album, released on a 12″ vinyl, consists of six new songs, including “Instinct of Survival” by Napalm Death.

– A small village by night. Years ago people used to drown children in the nearby swamps. I’m running through the forest but I still feel those little hands trying to peel off my skin. The kids cross my path and now I can see that their bodies are covered with mould and rotting. When I woke up from this nightmare, I had the album’s title in my mind – explains band’s drummer Radek. His dream was visualised by the artist Rafał Kruszyk, well known from creating graphics for Usurpress and Maim. – Rafał is the best graphic designer for our band. He’s a dedicated music fan and that’s what we’re actually looking for – say The Dead Goats.

– New songs are more coherent than those on the debut album and definitely more aggressive – adds Radek. The recording session took place (once again) in Studia Studio with Piotr Polak but the mastering was done by Marcin Klimczak (The Black Tapes).
